Wild Sugar Shop Assistants
We are looking for two Shop Assistants for the Wild Sugar boutique that are energetic, motivated, reliable, and interested in fashion to fill part-time positions. One of the positions will go full-time in the new year.
What we are looking for in a new Wild Sugar team member:
The successful candidate will be super friendly, helpful, and affable, and by this we mean friendly, good-natured, pleasant, easy to talk to, gracious, tactful, accommodating. These qualities are a must. Our tagline is “Be wild, be sweet, be you”. That will be you. That is who you are in the shop. We also need a person that is confident and knowledgeable of our collection to recommend designs to our customers and clients and to offer them any assistance that they require to complete their purchase.
Sales will come easily to the person that can appreciate the Wild Sugar collection and to those that can appreciate and engage with all people.
You must be able to take dress orders, pin hems, and communicate clearly with the production team via video and phone calls and order forms.
Wild Sugar Shop Assistants will assist with all functions of the boutique. Opening and closing the shop, regular cleaning, pricing incoming stock, EFTPOS and cash register operations, stock checks, shop, and mannequin dressing, and window display will be among your duties.
We will also give you access to tools to create social media posts promoting the Wild Sugar collection and label while you are in the shop during quiet times.
Sales experience is not a must. Being awake, aware, and open is. For the suitable persons, training will be provided.

We also offer commissions based on sales targets and other rewards such as a clothing allowance point system, free dress-making lessons (if desired), opportunities for advancement and valuable life experience, being a valued team member in the operations of a fashion label.
Who we are:
Wild Sugar is a fashion label for the wild and free that is based in Cairns. Our emphasis is on “Psychedelic Chic” with affections for Neo-Victorian, Bohemian, and Resort styles. All designs are made to be highly functional, comfortable, and timeless. The entire collection is created, designed, and manufactured in Cairns at our studio by Designer Sajeela Jamie and the Wild Sugar Team. Shop management, behind-the-scenes promotion, website development, and photography are handled by Dameon Jamie. We have been operating for 8 years and currently employ 5 people. We frequently hold photoshoots hiring local models to show new collections. This may also be something that the successful candidate is interested in as a model.
